Discovering the World of Plasma Technology with Plasmatreat GmbH
Plasmatreat is a medium-sized family-owned company and was founded in Steinhagen near Bielefeld in 1995. With the development of the Openair-Plasma® technology, Plasmatreat has established itself as one of the leading manufacturers and suppliers of plasma systems as well as a globally active service provider in surface technology. The acquisition of 4th State Inc. in California by Plasmatreat's US subsidiary in 2013 added low-pressure plasma technology to the company's expertise.
As a result, our broad and unique product portfolio enables us to offer customized surface treatment solutions to a wide range of customers from almost all manufacturing industries - automotive, e-mobility, battery manufacturing, transportation, electronics, packaging, consumer goods, life sciences, textile manufacturing and new energies.
In the field of plasma applications we focus on industrial ultra-fine cleaning, surface activation and plasma coating of surfaces made of materials such as plastics, metals, glass, cardboard, textiles and composites. We work closely with our customers to achieve the best results, and together we continue to innovate and create new products.
Plasmatreat worldwide
Wherever industry challenges can be solved with plasma, we are there and available for our customers. As a hidden champion, we develop innovative solutions for the pretreatment and coating of surfaces for customers and partners around the world.
Our colleagues from sales, service, research and development are located in 34 different parts of the world: 300 employees in over 18 countries and a global network of sales representatives and agents work closely with our customers every day.
With this broad network of research and development centers, subsidiaries and sales representatives, we are always present wherever our expert knowledge and experience in the field of custom surface treatment is needed. First-class service is also very important to us, which is why our international service team is always available. With offices around the world, we are able to respond immediately and ensure smooth production.
Headquarters in Steinhagen
Our Headquarters is in Steinhagen, Germany. This is because the Openair-Plasma® technology was invented near Bielefeld and has been consistently developed ever since.
The Plasmatreat Germany Technology and Research Center was established in 2014 to strengthen the R&D and application technology departments. It comprises various departments and laboratories for the development of innovative products, pioneering processes and customer-specific plasma processes. As a technology leader, we are often confronted with challenging issues that require closer examination and investigation. This is why our laboratories are equipped with extensive, state-of-the-art facilities.
Our production plants are also constantly being expanded, both technically and spatially. We are currently building our fourth production hall, which will be equipped with the latest technology. Naturally, we are also making full use of the potential of renewable energies. We at Plasmatreat are fully committed to protecting and preserving the environment. Our customers also benefit from an established network of reliable suppliers and partners in their region. The dynamically growing Plasmatreat team stands for the highest competence in the field of plasma technology.
Birkenfeld Branch
The second location of Plasmatreat Germany is the Birkenfeld branch near Stuttgart. It was founded in 1999 and is the sales and service location for our customers in southern Germany.
The first applications of plasma systems in the automotive sector led to an early decision to establish a site in Southern Germany, close to the Southern German automotive and supplier industry.
From Birkenfeld, the markets in Austria, Switzerland and northern Italy (until the establishment of our own subsidiaries) could also be easily serviced and reached. After all, customer proximity has been a top priority at Plasmatreat from the very beginning and has always been an important factor in the development of global markets.
